I cannot remember a time when I was not in the company of dogs. As a child my Indiana home was filled with sporting dogs. Since our dogs were hunting companions for my father, I would ask neighbors if they owned any AKC registered dogs and if they would allow me to show them at local dog shows. A few agreed and my Mom would drive me along with various breeds to regional dog shows. While in college I owned two Standard Poodles who were my young daughters play partners while David and I worked on our graduate degrees. Once we moved to New England, I was persuaded by my two daughters, Nita and Dylanie, to add a Boxer to our family. We rescued a Boxer puppy and she joined the resident Springer and Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Before Sadie turned two years old I was on a mission to begin showing dogs again; however, this time with one of my own and with a Boxer.In 1995, I came home with my first show Boxer puppy, Bogie (Ch. Shadows Nairobi, SOM) and a few months later added Bacall (Raklyns Raindrop, DOM). Bogie and Bacall produced 5 champion get and cemented the foundation of Standing-O Boxers.In 2000, I bought my first Vizsla puppy, Cate, who was Gaiter daughter. A year later, Tess joined the Standing-O Boxers. I was successful showing them to their championships and promoting Ch. Standing-O Chili Pepper as a very competitive Special. Currently, there are at least 10 Champion Standing-O Vizslas and others ready to finish in both confirmation and field. Recently, Megan Means added two Standing-O Vs to her family and now competes both in confirmation and field. We are excited to add additional titles to this wonderful breed and continue producing Vizslas that are loving companions and excellent hunters. The long noses are always welcomed to the Standing-O Boxer family.Over the years I have either bred or owned 4 Top Twenty Dogs, 3 Dams of Merit, Sire of Merit and bred and finished many Standing-O Champions.I have judged Sweeps for the Maryland Boxer Club, Garden Specialty Association/Vizslas Sweeps, the Rhode Island Boxer Match, and was nominated to judge the ABC National futurity. I belong to the American Boxer Club, Middlesex Boxer Club, Connecticut Valley Vizsla Club, and Vizsla Club of Central New England.

Chili Pepper finished her Championship very quickly and went on to perform well as a special. Her first litter includes two Champions: CH Standing-O Stowe Away at RK (Tamale) and CH Standing-O Red Moon Rising (Killian).

In May, Chilli and Bud (BIS BISS Am Can Ch. Bowcot Pekogiat One Man Band MH AX AXJ) had 8 beautiful puppies. Be watching for these puppies in the ring in the fall. Pictures will be posted soon.
